Does anyone know of the story about this Elvis impersonator that was gunned down outside a Las Vegas Hotel? Very little to be found on the net. Would like to know why and if the people were caught. I believe it happened in 1981 after he played the middle Elvis in that movie with Johnny Harra. I have heard that a certain son of an Eta was involved in a murder of an informant. Any help in this area would be appreciated.

You won't find anything on him either. You know whats interesting is if you look at his picture, he was a big strong looking guy. I sometimes wonder if he was a cop of some sort. The other thing thats real interesting is Jimmy Ellis death. He was shot years before that in the stomach. Just for giving somone directions and they thought he was a cop. But what makes no sense is this so called robbery. Who goes in shooting to hold up a pawn shop? What go from armed robbery to Murder for peanuts? Not only that if you go blasting away before you get the cash it means the cops would get there that much sooner. I know there are some real dumb criminal but this Don't add up! Not two attempts.

You are right the Jimmy Ellis murder didn't make any sense.I remember when I lived with Johnny Lovett and thats Johnny Harras son...We were roomies for a while and I remember when Ellis was murdered the story I heard was some people came to Jimmy and to quote how he told me this..BANG BANG ELVIS IS DEAD...thats what the people who killed Ellis was suppose to have said.There was another attempt on Ellis's life with the whole giving directions thing.Does this mean that someone wanted Ellis dead? Sounds like it to me.

He was murdered by his business partner, who had it done. They were in the palm tree business together and it went bad and they had a falling out. Dana Mackay was ready to go to court with damaging evidence against the ex partner and the only thing missing from the murder scene was the file with the damning evidence.
